2016 LC METSEA INFORMATION
Good afternoon everybody
Sorry about the delay I have been trying to get the results to access to Swimming NSW to upload the results but it hasn't happened.
As such there will also be some delays in relation to everyone getting on and doing their registrations if they haven't done them yet.
I would also like to thank everybody for last night. It is things that like that which put everything into perspective and justifies all the little extra things that need to be done.
Firstly the numbers
39 swimmers competed.
104 events
65 new METSEA qualifying times. (65%)
100 Personal bests or new best times. (96.15%)
This was an unbelievable effort. As a coach it is proof that the processes are working and every individual athlete should be proud of themselves.
So what next?
METSEA Championships are the first representative level meet in NSW. Attached is a list of individuals who have qualified. This meet allows eligibility to a range of other activities and as mentioned last night it is the opportunity to not only show off the clubs nearly 1000% growth since February but also our new uniforms.
The METSEA Championships are held over 2 days 19-20th November 2016. While attendance at the whole meet isn't compulsory. I strongly suggest that swimmers enter all events they have qualified and be in attendance for these events. A timeline will be made available closer to the event as a guide of when people will need to be there.
39 swimmers have qualified for 146 events. This is up massively from the club record we set at the winter championships and will double the clubs attendance at the meet last year.
This qualifier list is based on last years qualifying times and may change slightly. But what I would like is if people could get there entry confirmation to me ASAP. Entries are $8.50 per event. This years qualifying times should be release soon and once they are I will update these lists for everybody.
If everybody could please ensure that money and confirmation of entry has been received by the 15th October to myself or Ian Baird it would be greatly appreciated. I will be processing entries on the 16th October and this meet will fill up faster than any meet in the past and as many of you know these meets fill up fast.
Once again a huge congratulations to everybody and if there is any questions please contact myself or Ian Baird

2016 Short-course State Championships
We had 11 swimmers compete at the NSW Short course Championships over 3 days in August. Tom Oates (100m Breaststroke), Tahi Webster (50m Freestyle and 100m Breaststroke) and Samantha Gregory (200m Backstroke) all swam individual races and each did some extraordinary times with Tahi a finalist in the Breaststroke. Well done to all of you. Read More

The AKAC Club is small and close-knit club that has some amazing successes and a lot of fun. The kids have created a wonderful community. The fun they have in training, the pain theyshare in training (sorry Darren !) and the support they feel and give to fellow team members at race meets makes the whole experience special Read More

It's hard to believe that another month is almost gone and winter is well and truly here... I
imagine that it is rather hard for some of the kids and parents to be getting up for those early
morning sessions in the cold but please keep trying because morning squad numbers are
down and we're at risk of losing some of the flexibility we all take for granted. On those tough
days think of two things - the coaches are here waiting for you and... Read More

Our first Club Night under the new format and I think all who participated would say that it was a success. Our youngest competitor (8 years) was Leo Cosgrove who put in an extraordinary effort to swim his first ever 50m Butterfly. Well done! We also had some 9 year olds who did some fantastic swims and all of them get a special mention for their great efforts -– Will Houseman, Chloe Pankhurst and Jamie Robertson did some fantastic times. A special welcome also for Adam Khalil who joined in on the night and, did some very fine swimming! Read More
